Happy New Year 2011 from South Asia Blog

In all parts of South Asia, it is already morning of 1 January 2011. So, the new year has started. It has started with hope and we hope that things would become better for all the 8 countries in this region.
We at South Asia Blog wish that in 2011, more cooperation takes place among the member countries of SAARC. As for this blog, we hope to update it regularly. In 2010, South Asia Blog received around 2.3 million page views. Thus, on average we had nearly 6300 page views. It is excellent. In 2011, we want to focus on quality instead of quantity.
A very warm and happy near to all our readers.

A new and happy beginning for South Asia Blog

It is my most favorite blog but it has suffered a number of false starts until now. Well, I started it on January 6-7 2009. At first, it had a fairy tale dream start. Within four month, it saw more than 100,000 page views in a month. Then I realized that shared hosting was not good for a blog with high traffic. So, I had to dismantle the entire blog and take it to Blogger hosting of Google. However, at the same time, my wife became very ill and me too. I tried to guide my three assistants and we did a decent job with it. Even we took it to Google news for two and half months and then we suffered a bad setback because of my health.
Yes, this is indeed my most favorite blog and it is like my own child. It has grown a lot and just passed 3 million page views last week. The blog has 1900 Feedburner subscribers and 141 followers. Except for bringing good amount of money, it is a successful blog in any factor. Well, as far as the money matter is concerned, it is not the fault of this blog or its content. It is my bad luck that I live in a country without any Paypal. In fact, I hardly have any choice except using Adsense for earning money.
In fact, money would not be a big factor but my health was very sick for the last 16 months. As a result, this blog could never get consistent efforts from me.
The good news is that my health has become all right and hopefully, I can return to fulltime blogging again from tomorrow. Now, my only goal is to create useful content for my readers. I have many readers and I am very happy for this matter. I like to thank all the readers of this blog. They have helped me a lot to recover from a nasty and long term illness.
Fortunately, I have been able to understand my problem and hopefully, things will be much better from now on. I want to write the content that got links from many good blogs. One thing that gives a lot of satisfaction about this blog is the way that visitors have commented. Every day, when I woke up from sleep and sit in my computer and log in to my blogger account, I can find some new comments for this blog. In the last 17 months, the blog has received 3940 comments. Before that in just 5 months, it got nearly 2,000 comments but all of these 2,000 comments got lost when I had to change hosting and Blogging platform.
It has been a very tough journey for me both physically and emotionally with this blog. I like it so much and it also saw success. However, I could not be consistent with it because of my bad health.
So, a new and fresh beginning for South Asia Blog and I hope that this time I can fulfill my dream of making it as the best and most successful blog about South Asia.

Going back to Basics for South Asia Blog

I guess that it is the third time that I am changing the track of this blog. I started South Asia Blog in 5/6 January 2010 with the goal of making it a quality blog about business and economy. Mehdi Hassan and Biplob Kishore started working with me and in the first 3-4 months, we really put some quality content.
Then, it became a very successful blog and in the fourth month, it received more than 100,000 page views by simply writing about Google Trends Topics and Sports and Entertainment. Its success became the cause of its problem and shared hosting simply killed the blog. At that time, it was in WordPress and then I had to go for Google Blogger Custom domain hosting. I had to delete all the content and then manually post the entries one by one.
Then I became sick and again from this March, we started writing about business, technology, hot topics in Google Trends and from March, traffic simply sky rocketed. Well, the blog has received nearly 2 million page views in the last months. It has surely brought some decent revenue but it has destroyed my satisfaction about the quality of the blog.
When I started it then I had the dream that it will be my signature blog. In other terms, it will be the blog that I would proudly show off to others and be the most important part of my profile. From today, I am going back to the same mission.
We will post only entries related to business and economy. I want to make it a useful and thought provoking blog about South Asia. From time to time, we will post entries on global economy like entries about US economy or Europe or China or Japanese economy etc. However, the main focus will be on South Asia.
Thus, in short, we will not update the blog frequently like past but will try to post quality entries. I hope that all of you will enjoy reading the blog from now. I know that I will enjoy.

Special Thanks to All the Readers of Our Blog

April 2010 is going to finish within a few hours. It has been a successful month for this blog in terms of several factors. We had very good traffic. The number of followers has increased significantly. There has been some increase in the Feedburner stats too. There has been tremendous increase in Alexa ranking within a single month. We got links from a number of other websites and blogs. The only sad part is that we live in a third world country with every possible limitations and we could not monetize on our success. It is very frustrating but at the same time, I am very happy that we could achieve so many things in the last two months. March 2010 was also a great month.
Of course, this success has come only because of our readers. Some of them visit often and some of them actually like or dislike the thing they read here. The youngest member of our blog, Kamrul Hasan wrote two entries one month ago:
This entry has so far received 157 comments.
This one has got 79 comments.
This kind of participation surely gives us a lot of mental satisfaction. In fact, each month, we find that in an entry or two, around 50-100 comments are written. We do not expect that people will praise us. We welcome criticism even more because the criticism always helps us to understand our mistakes. Because of all the generous support from our readers, South Asia Blog is emerging as one of the top blogs about South Asia. Well, I admit that in the last two weeks, we covered mostly about India and much less about other countries in the region. We are going to try to change it in May. We will surely try to give adequate coverage about the other countries.
We want to make South Asia Blog as a very informative and useful blog about South Asia. For this we need a lot of support from all of you. Please visit our blog daily. Write comments if you can. Criticize us whenever you feel.
From May 2010, we like to post regular interviews, business news from the region and some quality articles on a weekly basis.

South Asia Blog has now 31 Followers

It is great to see that the number of followers for this blog has now reached to 31. We are very happy because we are trying to post regular content in this blog. The Alexa ranking is also improving and today, its ranking is 81,652. The Alexa ranking for South Asia Blog is smoothly decreasing. You know that the lower your rank is there, it is better.
We always try to post original content and we spend many hours for creating the content. So, it brings good feeling to note that our hard work is paying off at last.
I live in Bangladesh and unfortunately, we still do not have Paypal. We still cannot get some advertising programs for our blog because of this limitation. So, our earning potential is limited. However, that does not discourage us from blogging.
We all believe in honest effort and we always try to put quality content.
Thanks a lot everyone for being with us.

South Asia Blog is one Year Old

I am delighted to inform you that this blog (South Asia Blog) is now on year’s old. In fact, I noticed that this domain became alive on 5 January 2009 and thus, we have already passed one year. The blog started in a very promising note and in the last one year, we achieved some good amount of success. It received more than 700,000 page views and I consider it to be a grand success as far as traffic is concerned. It also achieved Page Rank 6 and it was linked by many blogs and websites.
In fact, South Asia Blog grew so much that we had problem with shared hosting and we had to delete all entries and changed hosting and blogging platforms in June 2009. It was a tragic thing that re devastated me. From July, I became sick and could not give enough time for this blog. Fortunately, now, I think that I have become better and I can start.
The main goal was to write about business and economy of South Asian region. At first, we could do that very well but one thing after another happened and we lost track. Now, we are gradually trying to go back to our original mission.
We are expecting a very good 2010 for South Asia Blog. I have understood that if we work regularly then huge traffic will come for this blog. Yes, I want huge traffic because it brings good revenue and who does not want that their entries are read by thousands of people every day! At least, I want that. It bring very good feeling and some good income too. I want to focus on writing quality entries in this blog from now. I also want that South Asia Blog emerges as one of the top business and economy blogs in Internet within next one year and I really hope to work very hard with this goal in mind.

Back to Business for South Asia Blog

I started this blog in January 2009 and I started as a business and economy blog. It got good amount of success and I have to admit that I acted very foolishly and changed the topic. I neglected business and economy of South Asia and wrote about everything else. Well, I have to admit that I did not have the maturity as a blogger that time. I know that I cannot change the past and I am sorry for it. Well, many of you enjoyed good coverage of sports here in the last few months and you became Feedburner subscriber for it. Well, I am sorry for this matter. If you are looking for good sports coverage then you can visit our another blog: http://www.sports37.com/ . It is a good blog and it is updated almost daily.
Anyway, I have to apologize to those of you too who came here for business and economy related entries but did not find them on a regular basis. However, I assure you that from now, South Asia Blog will again become a blog business and economy related to the region. I have noticed that we cover much more about India than the other countries. Well, India has nearly two third of the total population in the region. So, it naturally gets more coverage. However, from now, we would like to put more content on other countries too.
I just wrote an interesting entry which you can read: Black Friday 2009 Deals: Acer Aspire One for $149.99!!!
I wish that we had something like Black Friday deals in all the South Asian countries.
Hopefully, I will be able to keep my promise and you will enjoy the blog again.

Half Million Page Views for This Blog

I am very excited to note in my Sitemeter that this blog (South Asia Blog) is going to touch half million page views mark in the next few minutes. It is an amazing feeling for any blogger. I started this blog in January and thus, it took 9 and half months to reach this mile stone. It is not the first time that I have got this amount of page views for a blog. In fact, in the last 3 and half years of my professional blogging life, I have seen another 5 blogs passing this amount of page views. Thus, it is the 6th blog and I have another one that would have the same achievement within a few weeks.

South Asia Blog suffered some tough condition because of my mistake about selecting the right kind of hosting. Secondly, I also made a big mistake by changing its focus from being a purely economic blog to covering many other things. Well, I really want to go back to my original topic of South Asian Business Economy from 1 November 2009.

After 8 Months and 400,000 Page views of South Asia Blog

Wow! 8 months have already passed. Time really flies so fast. I started this blog on South Asian Business Economy. I still cover them but these days, there is more of Bollywood and Cricket. Well, if you live in South Asia then you should know that entertainment and sports are perhaps the most popular thing. Huge amount of money are spent on them and they are a part of mainstream business. So, in a way, I have digressed from the original topic of the blog but then, we are covering the things that have most popular appeal.
I am happy to inform you that we have received more than 400,000 page views since the day South Asia Blog was started. It is cool because at first getting traffic is very difficult. Now, I guess that it will become much easier. We have received links form many blogs and websites and I like to thank them a lot. The best part is that these links were not reciprocal. They just liked our content and mentioned about us.
I am also excited to inform you that the number of Feedburner subscribers has passed 1000. This is perhaps the sweetest part. We are trying to give something that some people like and this brings the most satisfaction for us.
What next? Well, I have realized that we should cover business, entertainment (movies and TV) and sports. This way, we can reach to a lot of people in South Asia. We are always committed to producing quality content and I hope that most of our visitors get satisfied with the thing content we put it in South Asia Blog.
As for business and economy, I have decided to give my best content in the field in a new blog: http://www.hobbyeconomist.com/ and you should take a visit there.

After 7 Months of South Asia Blog

Time really is flying. I started this blog in January, 2009 and how fast it has become seven month old. I have a number of blogs but I feel that right now, this is the most successful one for me. It is perhaps natural because I live in south Asia and I have been blogging about this field for more than three and half years. Well, unfortunately in the last one month, we could not work on the blog as we expected and unfortunately, I have been personally suffering from a number of problems in my personal life.

At this moment, I’m sick and weak and it is very difficult for me to concentrate on updating his website. I’m optimistic about making a quick recovery and again be back to my complete strength very soon. For the time being, I request all of the regular visitors to be some patient and give us some time to come back strongly.

After 6 Months of South Asia Blog

Well, this blog is now more than 6 months old. However, if you look at the entries then you will notice that they are just of June 2009 and July. Well, what happened is that there were some technical problems and I had to delete the old entries and then again reposted some of them. In the last few days, we could not post that much because we are facing a problem. My wife is sick and I am in hospital with her. My other two co-bloggers for this blog are running for me. So, we cannot post regularly. I hope that things would be better next week.

If we look at the last 6 months of South Asia Blog then we can find some good achievements:

1. Over 200,000 visitors and 300,000 page views. The information is courtesy of Sitemter which is open for all: http://www.sitemeter.com/?a=stats&s=s51southasiablog

2. Feedburner subscriber reached to 680+ which is quite amazing for a new blog.

3. South Asia Blog has now page rank 6. It is also a good achievement for a 6 months old blog.

No doubt, all the credit goes to the readers who came regularly. Then, there is Google who is sending us visitors through search results all the time.

Hopefully, we will have something bigger to celebrate when South Asia Blog passes 1 year.

Second Journey for South Asia Blog

I am happy that South Asia Blog is back again. A few days ago, I fell into some technical problems with this blog and I had to go to Blogger hosting from of Google instead of shared hosting plus WordPress. All the content of the blog got deleted and then I had to repost them one by one. Well, since I was doing it too fast, Google marked this blog as a spam. I appealed to Google and they removed the mark. Earlier today, I could upload the last entry from the past. So, it is back to business again.

South Asia is my most favorite topic because I live in this part of the world. In fact, with this blog, I had a dream start and dream run. Within just 5 months, it reached to Page rank 5 and got linked by some really quality websites and blogs. Then, the unexpected and unseen happened. The success in good traffic caused a problem in the hosting as a lot of people suddenly visited this blog at the same time. So, I moved to Blogger hosting of Google and now, I hope that I can focus on the thing I like best- writing.

I welcome you again to this blog and like to thank all of you for reading it.

Sorry for all the Troubles to South Asia Blog

If you are a visitor to this blog then you must have noticed that Google has put some kind spam filter for this blog. It caught me by surprise because if you are a regular visitor then you must have noticed that we always try our best to provide quality content and as a result, South Asia Blog has been linked by some good blogs and websites. Within just 5 months, it reached to Google Page Rank of 5 which is an amazing achievement for a blog within such a short time.

So, you may wonder that what happened to this blog? What happened is that there was some problem about hosting of the blog and in the past it was based on WordPress. I decided to transfer the blog to Google’s blogger hosting and unfortunately, there is no easy way to do so. I wish that I was a techie but I am not and so, last night, I had to delete all the entries and then transferred the blog to Google Blogger hosting and started to report my entries. I guess that I was reposting the entries much faster than I should have. So, Google has now put some kind of filter that any visitor has to pass.

I have already appealed to Google and hopefully this problem should end within the next day or two. I am deeply sorry for all the trouble. I really hope that this problem finishes within the shortest possible time. I also feel sorry for many people who are coming for the information they are searching but then finding it difficult to find it.

Welcome to South Asia Blog for the Second Time

I wish that no blogger has to go through the pain that I had to suffer in the last few months. To be honest with you, I did not have any idea about shared hosting because most of the time, I either worked for a blog network or used to blog in Blogspot or Blogger blogs. After I bought my own domains and then bought hosting and installed Wordpress then I understood that I have done a very big mistake. What happens is that after few months, my blogs get good traffic and if few thousand visitors come all of a sudden in one hour then the hosting creates all kind of problems. Well, I am not blaming anyone except myself because shared hosting of any company is same.

If you are a serious blogger and have dream of becoming a professional blogger then think about this matter seriously. Either go for dedicated hosting or private virtual servers or else use Blogger hosting. I cannot afford dedicated servers or private virtual servers. So, I am going for the second option.

Anyway, thanks a lot for being with us. I hope that now I can focus on blogging itself or creating quality content instead of wasting my time for technical issues. I love writing and in fact, we all 3 bloggers of this blog love writing and blogging.

I plan to upload almost all the old entries manually. So, I apologize in advance for any inconvenience.
