Bajaj Pulsar 180 DTSi: The motor bike that changed Indian two-wheeler Industry

(This entry was originally uploaded on May 2009.)

Bajaj Auto is one of the top automakers in India and it is famous for its two-wheeler and three-wheeler vehicles. The Bajaj Pulsar is the company’s flagship two-wheeler vehicle. Not only the Bajaj Pulsar motorcycles gained a cult following but also established Bajaj Auto in the highly competitive Indian auto industry. Prior to Bajaj Pulsar, the Indian motor cycle market was dominated by small fuel efficient motorcycles. Bigger motor cycles were not produced by auto companies. Then Hero Honda CBZ changed the scenario forever. It was the first heavy bike launched in India in 1999. Bajaj then took the initiative and launched the Pulsar in 2001. Since then, the motorcycle has been constantly upgraded. In 2003, the Pulsar series featured the newly developed Digital Twin Spark Plug Ignition technology. There are four models in the Bajaj Pulsar DTSI series: Pulsar 150 DTSi, Pulsar 180 DTSi, Pulsar 200 DTSi and Pulsar 220 DTSi. The first Bajaj Pulsar 180 was launched in November 2001. Since then, it has gone through major updates. After twenty three months the all new Bajaj Pulsar 180 DTSi was launched. This was followed by another two major updates. The current generation of Bajaj Pulsar 180 DTSi UG IV.

The all new Bajaj Pulsar 180 DTSi UG IV is not just any mere facelift. This new motorcycle packs some serious machines. The 180 DTSi UG IV also boasts of good quality parts which gives the motor cycle a strong sporty look.

The Indian auto industry has come a long way. In the same way, taste of people has also changed. Once two-wheeler was considered to be poor man’s vehicle but not any more. Now, bikes are a major icon of the Indian youth. Imagine yourself on the open road riding a high powerful bike and the wind blowing on your face. A bike is not just a vehicle but it also symbolizes energy and freedom.

  4. 5 feet is too low a height for a pulsar and the only thing you can do(as far as my knowledge) is to set the rear suspension to it's softest setting. It might lower the bike a bit.You may also buy some good shoes and don't respond to morons like those two because it isn't even worth the time.

    Hi NIPIN ,
Bajaj Pulsar has adjustable shock absorbers, so you can adjust according to your height. But as compared to other bike, Pulsar is bit taller. You can try Yamaha FZ 16, its is shorter than Pulsar
