It is time for the 3rd ODI between West Indies and India. The match will take place tomorrow (3 July 2009, Friday). In the first ODI, India won but then, in the second match of the series, West Indies completely demolished the visitors. So, the series is poised at 1-1 and both of the teams would want to win tomorrow and take a lead. India played in 7 ODI series in the past in West Indies and could beat them only once. So, from that point of view, the home team looks to be a favorite. However, team India is under intense pressure from the fans to perform well in the series.
Many people in India are yet very angry about the poor performance of their national team in the recently concluded Twenty20 World Cup 2009. The coach of Indian team publicly said that IPL was the main villain. So, now many people feel that the players care for money more than national glory. In the first two matches of this series, their performance was not good either. Yuvraj Singh seems to be the batsman in form and if he fails then India may suffer another batting collapse tomorrow.
The West Indies players are in relax mood. They do not have that much pressure from their fans. In fact, cricket is losing its popularity in West Indies and people do not care about it like past. That is perhaps why; West Indies players must try to win the series- to get some media attention and public support.
