South Africa Facing a Big Test against New Zealand

South Africa will go through a huge test when they face New Zealand tomorrow in a very important game of Group B in Champions Trophy 2009. New Zealand will start their Champions league mission with the game and naturally, they will have less pressure compared to the Protease.

South Africa lost the first match to Sri Lanka, and thus, making the New Zealand game a ‘must-win’ affair. They were the one of the pre-tournament favorites and it would be a shock to the cricket fans to see South Africa getting out of the tournament from the group stage.

For New Zealand, Champions trophy is a tournament to prove their quality as a top-flight team. South Africa may feel relaxed considering the recent poor form of the Kiwis. However, it would be quite suicidal for South Africa, if they take Vettori and his team lightly. New Zealand has a very good squad and their performance in the practice game against India is in evident of their ability and skill.

Overall, the pressure is now on South Africa and the hosts know it very well that another defeat would take them on the verge of a humiliating exit from the tournament. New Zealand, on the other hand, would like to get off to a good start in the tournament. So, we can expect a competitive match tomorrow.
