Diego Maradona: The Last Big Day against Peru

Diego Maradona has millions of fans around the world. He is undoubtedly one of the two greatest footballers of all time- the other being Pele. Maradona is now a coach and in fact, he is the coach of Argentine national football team. The team is in serious danger at this moment. In fact, there is a strong possibility that in 2010 World Cup final stage, there will be no Argentina. At this moment, they are at the fifth position in CONMEBOL (South America) zone. The first four teams are assured of direct qualification. The fifth team will have to play against 4th placed team from CONCACAF Qualification country in a home and away play-off match.
So, even if Argentina can remain in the fifth position then they still have some kind of chance. However, judging by the current performance, even the most die hard fan of this team is not optimistic. Since, Maradona is now the coach, a lot of blame goes towards him. That is why; I think that if Argentina draws or loses the match against Peru then it will be the last day for him as the coach of the national team.
My fellow blogger Biplob Kishore Deb is a die hard fan of Brazil and he is all against Argentina. However, he is hoping that Argentina can qualify because he thinks that World Cup without Messi will lose its major attraction. Biplob has written long and detailed entry about Argentina vs Peru match.
I am a passionate supporter of this team. I hope that Maradona and his boys can thrash Peru by at least 6-7 goals in the match. Messi is an important player and he must try his best that day.

  1. I would also like to see Argentina qualify for the 2010 World Cup. Whether or not they do, Diego Maradona's career as team manager is over.
