Indian Ocean Star Asheem Chakravarty Died of Cardiac Arrest

Asheem Chakravarty of ‘Indian Ocean,’ a fusion band in India, died of cardiac arrest on 25 December. Asheem was admitted into hospital recently after his health condition deteriorated recently and was in coma for a long time. However, there was a ray of hope as he was recovering and came back to a semi-conscious state before breathing his last at 2pm on Friday. In October this year, he first suffered a heart attack.

Asheem Chakravarty and Sushmit Sen formed the Indian Ocean band which has been very popular in India and Indian Ocean is now considered as a pioneer in rock band in India. Asheem was a percussionist as well as a vocalist in Indian Ocean band. Two other band mates of Asheem Chakravarty are: Amit Kilam and Rahul Ram. The band posted an obituary in their official Tweeter site.

Cremation of Asheem Chakravarty was completed in the presence of his friends and family members and band mates.
