Sri Rama Navami is the birthday of Lord Rama, an avatar of Vishnu. On March 24, 2010, the Hindus all over the world celebrate the birth of Lord Rama. Rama Navami is one of the important Hindu festivals. The festival falls on the ninth day in the month of Chaitra according to Hindu calendar. This period is refered as “Shukla Paksha.” For this reason, this festival is also known as, “Chaitra Masa Suklapaksha Navami.” On this day, Lord Rama also married Sita. This day also marks as the end of the nine day festival known as Vasanthothsavam (festival of spring), that starts with Ugadi.
