The Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University is a reputed educational institution at the state of Andhra Pradesh. The university is located at Kukatpally and has ‘A’ Grade accreditation by National Assessment and Accreditation Council. The university is of affiliating type and its territorial jurisdiction covers the areas of Hyderabad, Ranga Reddy, Medak, Nizamabad, Adilabad, Karimnagar, Warangal, Khammam, Nalgonda and Mahboobnagar districts of Andhra Pradesh state. The university became an autonomous institution after the Andhra Pradesh Legislature approved Act No.30 also known as Jawaharlal Nehru Technological Universities Act, on August 18, 2008. The first vice-chancellor of the university is Dr.D.N.Reddy. After the act six colleges including JNTU College of Engineering,Hyderabad(CEH), JNTU College of Engineering, Karimnagar, JNTU School of Information Technology (SIT), JNTU Institute of Science and Technology (IST), JNTU School of Management Studies (SMS), and JNTU Academic Staff College (ASC).
