Rajiv Gandhi Proudyogiki Vishwavidyalaya (RGPV) also known as Rajiv Gandhi Technical University (RGTU) also known as State Technological University of Madhya Pradesh, is a multi-campus affiliating university in India. Named after former Indian Prime Minister, Rajiv Gandhi, the university is well known for its wide range to technical courses and claims to be one of the best universities of the country. Located in Madhya Pradesh the RGTU has campuses in Bhopal, Sagar, Indore, Jabalpur, Gwalior etc. The university was established in 1998 by the Government of Madhya Pradesh under Madhya Pradesh vide Act No.13. For a long time, the authority of Madhya Pradesh felt the need of establishing an institution to consolidate technical education in Madhya Pradesh and ensure better quality in teaching, research and development. This led to the creation of RGTU, which now includes all the colleges of Engineering, Science and Technology as well as the Polytechnics affiliated to various Universities and Boards of Technical Education in the state of Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh.
