The Biju Patnaik University of Technology (BPUT), Orissa, was established in November 2002 with an aim to ensure quality education in the technology sector and introduce a unified curriculum and uniform evaluation system. It was created by an act of the government. Currently, the university has 110 colleges. Some of them are affiliated by the university and some of them are constituent. A total of 58,000 students study in these colleges. The university offers undergraduate and post graduate degrees in various disciplines including architecture, business management, hostel management, computer studies and pharmacy.
