Druk Punjab National Bank is offering shares in Bhutan

On April 26, 2010, Shares of Druk Punjab National Bank Ltd. has been launched in Bhutan. It is the first FDI in Bhutan. Druk PNB released 7,50,000 IPOs with face value of Nu100 per share. Druk PNB has a plan to raise Nu300 million for its capital. Out of this, 25%, that is Nu75 million, would be collected through IPOs. The IPOs are offered by the RICBL securities Ltd. and it would close on May 25, 2010. Interested buyers can collect their share application forms and prospectus in RICBL branches. They can also download forms from RICBL website. Quensel Online reports:

An additional five percent of the shares, 150,000, have been reserved for private placement, which means that its allotment will be decided by the Druk PNB board of directors. “Apart from the promoters, anybody is eligible to be given this allotment,” said the bank’s CEO, NK Arora. “It could be an individual or several people.”

Mr. Arora also said that Bhutan government’s IPO committee and Druk PNB’s board approved the private placement shares. Druk PNB aims to collect Nu 15M from private shares. It has not been decided when the private shares will be offered but it is believed that after the public allotment is closed the private shares will be allotted.
