CBSE Grading System 2010: Students will be awarded CGPA

The CBSE Class X result has been announced at 10 a.m. on May 28, 2010. On the first day, CBSE will release results for Delhi, Guwahati, Allahabad, Chennai, Ajmer and Panchkula.

The CBSE Class X exam was held in March this year and 9,02,517 students sat for the exam out of which 2,47,291 were from Delhi.

This year’s CBSE exam class X exam is also special for another reason. For the first time, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will publish its results in grades instead of percentage. Under this new system, the board will not reveal who obtained the top places.

The board has taken this step to reduce stress off the students but many students are not happy because they say that until junior college the admission is based on marks and this new grading system would not make any difference.

Many students are also confused how they would get to know about their exact scores.

The students will be awarded grades starting from A1 to E2. Student whose scores would fall in the range of 91% to 100% will be awarded A1 grade, 81%-90% A2
