The Jharkhand Academic Council was established on November 15, 2000 under the Jharkhan Academic Council Act passed by the Jharkhand State Legislature. The organization holds and conducts Intermediate, Secondary, Sanskrit and Madrasa exams. It also prescribes courses of studies for these examinations. It also provides recommendations for recognizing Intermediate Educational Institutions, High Schools, Sanskrit Schools and Madrassas to the Sate Government.
