Mitsubishi Outlander SUV car launched in India

On May 11, 2010, Mitsubishi launched Outlander in India. The SUV offers both 2WD and 4WD mode but only the patrol variant is available in India. The car was unveiled by Vijay Kumar, Executive Vice President and SBU Head, Chennai car plant, Hindustan Motors. He said that the new Outlander is a result of customer feedback they received.

The Indian version of Mitsubishi Outlander 2010 is a combination of top performance and great design. It borrows many features from Outlander GT Prototype. The car has beautifully designed front grille taken from Lance Evo. It gives the car a sporty look. The headlamp and outside rear view mirror come with integrated turn indicators. It also has bulged rear bumper, silver-colour roof rails.

The Outlander is run by a 2.4 DOHC 16 valve KPI MIVES engine with a displacement of 2360cc. The engine meets BS-IV emission norms. It can produce a maximum power of 170 PS at 6,000 rpm and a maximum torque of 226Nm at 4100rpm.

Mitsubishi Outlander 2010 has a top speed of 190 km/h, 6 speed manual gear transmission, 6 speed paddle shift, Hydraulic Variable power assisted steering, MacPherson coil springs with stabilizer bar and rear multi-link coil springs to ensure smooth riding experience.

The Mitsubishi Outlander 2010 has a minimum turning radius of 5.3 meters. It is available in seven colors- cat walk silver, chick black, military green, vogue white, hunt red, primavera purple and runway grey.

Comfort features of the car include leather seats, automatic door lock, Keyless Operation System (KOS), and paddle shifters on the steering wheel.

The car also has great safety features including front dual stage airbags, anti-lock braking system. The car also has a theft protection device.

The Mitsubishi Outlander 2010 would cost Rs.19.95 lac. Only the patrol variant is available in India. Mitsubishi’s policy is “One country one Price.”
