Pakistan vs Australia 2nd Semi Final of T20 World Cup 2010: Time and Preview

Australia takes on Pakistan at the Beausejour Stadium, Gros Islet in St Lucia in the second semi final of the ongoing twenty20 world cup 2010 on Friday (14 May). Cricket fans are eagerly waiting for a close match between these two cricket powerhouses.

Time

The game begins at 11:30 local time (15:30 GMT). In India, cricket fans can watch the match from 21:00, while in Pakistan the match kicks off at 20:30. As per the Bangladesh time, the match begins at 21:30. In Australia, the match starts in Canberra and Sydney at 01:30am, in Adelaide at 01:00am, and in Perth at 23:30.

Pakistan is the defending champion in the tournament. In fact, they are the only team who appeared in the final of the previous two T20 world cup tournaments. So, many would see them favorite against Australia.

However, Aussies are in excellent form so far as they did not lose any of their 5 matches in the tournament. In fact, Australia defeated Pakistan convincingly by 34 runs in the group stage and it looks the Aussies are now full of confidence on the back of 5-match winning streak.

Pakistan, on the other hand, went through many ups and downs throughout the tournament. They had to defeat Bangladesh to ensure their Super Eight progress. Then in the Super Eight, Pakistan lost their first 2 games, before clinching an 11-run victory over South Africa in the last match, and thus, winning their berth in the semi final.

Both Pakistan and Australia have some match winners who can dominate and make the job easier for their sides. Cricket fans would like to see how Pakistani batsmen can deal with Australia’s in-form pace attack featuring Nannes, Tait, Johnson and Watson.

Pakistan will expect its pace trio Razzaq, Aamer and Rehnman to do the same for them. However, Australian batsmen may find Pakistani spinners Ajmal and Afridi more challenging than their pacers.
