England takes on Australia at home in a five match ODI series starting from June 22, 2010. In the upcoming series, Australia would like to regain some of its pride lost through last year’s defeat in Ashes series in England. England, on the other hand, would look to continue their consistent form in the series.
Australia’s England tour will kick off with the only ODI match against Ireland in Dublin. Then they will face Middlesex in a 50-over match before taking on England in the first ODI at the Rose Bowl in Southampton on 22 June. After the ODI series, Australia will face Pakistan in a two-match ODI and two-match test series.
Australia would find a confident England who recently won the Twenty20 world cup 2010. However, their recent form in ODI is not as dominating as it is in T20 and test cricket. England is currently ranked 5th in the ICC ODI ranking, while world champion Australia leads the ranking.
Australia has been in excellent form in ODI format of the game. In fact, Ricky Ponting and his team did not lose any bilateral ODI series since April 2009 when they lost to South Africa at home. They also won the ICC Champions Trophy 2009. Recently, Australia won Chappell-Hadlee Trophy 3-2 in New Zealand. Before that, Australia whitewashed 5-0 and defeated West Indies 4-0 at home.
England recently won ODI series in Bangladesh after clinching the ODI series 2-1 in South Africa. Though England won the Ashes series in 2009, they were severely thrashed by visiting Australia in the ODI series. Australia clinched the 7-match ODI series 6-1.
Here is the schedule of the ODI series 2010 between England and Australia:

England’s recent form may look pretty much convincing, but given Australia’s recent form in ODI indicates a highly entertaining series coming up next. English fans were disappointed at England’s performance in their 6-1 series defeat to Australia last year. So, England could look for a revenge of last year’s humiliation.
