Aleksandar Kolarov Heavily Linked with Manchester City

Even a week back, Lazio full back Aleksandar Kolarov was thought to be joining Real Madrid in the Summer transfer window. However, Real Madrid’s £12million offer could not match Lazio’s asking price of £22 million. Moreover, Kolarov’s agent Ernesto Bronzetti has recently revealed that a deal with Real Madrid would be difficult to make.

Manchester City has now intervened in the scene with a £15 million offer. Reports out in the media also suggest that Kolarov would love a move to City, even though his priority is to join Real Madrid. However, City also fears that Lazio might use them to increase the player’s price in the transfer market.

Manchester City is gradually closing in on Yaya Toure and David Silva deals, while a James Milner deal now looks more likely to happen. Manager Roberto Mancini is also planning to bring in striker Edin Dzeko at Eastlands, though the Wolfsburg striker is also linked with Portsmouth.

It seems that Aleksandar Kolarov could almost fulfill Manchester City’s Summer signings. However, Lazio has not revealed anything on City’s desire of securing the service of the Serbian international. The 24-year-old has represented Lazio in 82 Serie A matches. For Serbia, Kolarov has made 15 appearances so far in his career.
