Brazil vs Tanzania Friendly 2010: Dunga Worried about Player Exhaustion

Ahead of Brazil’s final warm-up match against Tanzania before the World Cup 2010 begins, coach Dunga is worried about the exhaustion of the players who have just come after spending a busy season with their European clubs.

Lucio, Julio Cesar and Maicon were part of Inter Milan’s Champions League winning team, while Kaka has had an injury plagued season with Real Madrid. Dunga played all of them in the first half of their recent 3-0 victory over Zimbabwe. Goalkeeper Julio Cesar was substituted by Gomes after 26 minutes.

Dunga is not the only coach who is worried about the fitness level of the players. Players from the countries like England, Spain, Italy and Germany are also facing the same problem. England already lost their captain Rio Ferdinand, while Germany lost Michael Ballack. Several other players like Didier Drogba, Arjen Robben are also doubtful about their recovery.

So, Dunga has got to deal with this problem and there is no other option. The good thing is that Kaka missed a lot of action last season due to injury, so exhaustion may not be a problem for him. However, Dunga is aware of Kaka’s match fitness.

Brazil is now in Tanzania to play their final friendly game. Dunga would like to have a final look on his squad and sort out the team formation. He may opt to rest some of the players who had to play a lot of football during the last season. Cesar, Maicon and Lucio may be rested for the Tanzania match.

There are many who may find it surprising that Brazil set up a friendly against a team who are ranked 108th in the FIFA ranking. The main reason behind it is business and money. For playing the match, Brazil will receive $2.5 million, the same amount they got for playing the previous match against Zimbabwe.

Ticket prices for the Tanzania match is ranging from US$25 to US$180. It is record ticket price ever in Tanzania.
