The Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) is one of the Central Police Forces of the Government of India. The force was created on October 24, 1962, with an aim to guard the 3488 km long India-China border stretching from Jammu and Kashmir to Arunachal Pradesh.

The ITBP is an elite force that specializes in high altitude warfare, mountaineering, disaster management and VIP security. The force has a glorious history. Over the years, new battallions have been raised to take more important responsibilities including the anti Naxal operations.
