Joe Cole: Future is Still Uncertain

Chelsea winger Joe Cole’s future is still uncertain. He has become a free agent after his contract has been expired recently and Chelsea has not shown much interest to give him an improved contract. There are a number of clubs who are currently tracking the England international.

Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United are now in the race to acquire his service, and thus, capitalizing on his ‘free agent’ status. Few days back, there were reports out in the media suggesting that a secret deal has already been drawn up between Arsenal and the player, but nothing has been confirmed yet. Arsenal’s North London rivals Tottenham, who finished in the top four in Premier League last season, is also pretty much interested to sign Joe Cole.

Manchester United is also interested in the player, but it seems Arsenal and Tottenham are ahead of the Old Trafford club. United’s city rivals Manchester City has also expressed their desire to land the player. West Ham, whose prime target has been Thierry Henry this Summer, has also revealed that they are still tracking the Chelsea midfielder.

Joe Cole would definitely be happy to know that a number of clubs are keen to have him for the next season. However, it is less likely that his future would be decided before the World Cup finishes as hea is totally focused on this Summer tournament.
