Nemanja Vidic on His Way to Real Madrid?

Real Madrid is reportedly very close to complete the signing of Manchester Untied defender Nemanja Vidic. Madrid’s newly appointed manager Jose Mourinho has revealed his interest to land the 28-year-old centre back at Bernabéu this summer.

It has reported that Real Madrid is ready to spend £30 million for the Serbian international. However, cash-strapped Manchester United is trying hard to keep the defender at Old Trafford, though it seems less likely that United would be able to deny Real Madrid’s lucrative offer.

Real Madrid has already indicated that they would continue their spending spree this summer too and has reportedly given a huge transfer kitty to Mourinho to strengthen the squad.

Despite spending a lot last summer to sign the players like Cristiano Ronaldo, Kaka, Xabi Alonso and Karim Benzema, Real Madrid finished the season empty-handed. Kaka missed a lot of action due to injury, while Karim Benzema failed to force his way into the first team. This time Real Madrid is very much hopeful that Mourinho would be able to help the club win silverware next season.

Nemanja Vidic has become a regular partner of Rio Ferdinand at the heart of United defense since his move to Old Trafford in 2006 from Spartak Moscow. Manchester United suffered a lot when Vidic was out of action for sometime during last season.

Manchester City also revealed their interest in the defender recently and was planning to make a £20m bid for the player. However, it seems Real Madrid is more likely to be Vidic’s final destination.
