Tottenham Hotspur Revealed Julio Baptista Interest

Tottenham Hotspur has now been linked with Brazilian attacking midfielder Julio Baptista who is currently playing for Italian club Roma. Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp is now reportedly interested to secure the service of the former Arsenal player.

The 28-year-old could not flourish his potential over the years. Even his recent form with Roma is not promising at all. So, Redknapp’s interest in the Brazil international could surprise many. Even his performance with Brazil national team does not speak of his talent. In 45 matches for Brazil, he could found the net only 5 times. He also spent a season with Arsenal on loan from Real Madrid.

It seems Tottenham Hotspur would have to spend £4 million to sign the highly talented but mostly underrated creative midfielder. Baptista could be a very good signing for Tottenham considering that fact that he is still 28 and there is every possibility he could regain his best form that he displayed during his two-season spell at Sevilla. With Sevilla, Baptista scored 39 goals in his 62 La Liga appearances.

Tottenham has also been linked with English midfielder Joe Cole who also has attacking intent. With Manchester United backing out as a possible suitor of Cole, Tottenham’s chances are now brighter to bring in the England international.
