AC Milan: We do not Need Joe Cole

It was earlier reported that AC Milan had joined Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur in the race to sign former Chelsea star Joe Cole. However, Adriano Galliani, the vice president of AC Milan, has revealed that the club does not need Joe Cole who is currently a free agent after Chelsea released him in May.

Joe Cole has just returned to England after taking part in the World Cup where England was knocked out by Germany in the round of 16. Joe Cole earlier said that he would decide on his club future after the end of the World Cup. So, it seems he would start negotiating with interested clubs very soon.

AC Milan is believed to be highly interested to sign Sevilla’s Brazilian striker Luis Fabiano who scored 3 goals in the World Cup. Manchester United and Tottenham are also in the race, but Fabiano has already made it clear that he would only consider AC Milan and Tottenham, if he leaves Sevilla.

However, Adriano Galliani has put some doubt in their interest in Fabiano. He has said that Milan goes for a big player like Fabiano, if one big player leaves the club, and they do not usually let their big players move.

Joe Cole with his free agent status could be a lucrative deal for any club, but his wage demand of around £110,000 is a factor that forced Manchester United out of the race and Arsenal is also unlikely to meet it. Now, if Joe Cole holds on to his wage demand, then Tottenham Hotspur seems to be the most likely destination for him.
