Ashley Cole and Maicon at Real Madrid Next Season?

Real Madrid’s new manager Jose Mourinho is now heavily interested to bring in two attacking minded full backs Maicon and Ashley Cole. He is also reportedly interested to spend £40 million to secure the services of the two players.

Since taking over as the new boss of the Spanish giants, Mourinho revealed his interest to land the two defenders, who have very good attacking intent, at Bernabeu this summer. The Portuguese has previous experience of working with both the players. During his stint as Chelsea boss, Mourinho signed left back Ashley Cole from Arsenal in 2006. He then managed Maicon at Inter Milan.

Following the recent debacle in his private life, Cole is now reportedly looking for a new start at somewhere else and he is also keen to leave England. However, Chelsea would like to keep hold on their England international.

Inter Milan’s Brazilian right back Maicon has also attracted Mourinho. The 29-year-old has been pretty much impressive during Inter’s Treble winning last season. Inter Milan manager Rafael Benitez is also reportedly tracking Liverpool right back Glen Johnson. Interestingly, Mourinho is also considering a move for Johnson, if his attempt to sign Maicon from Inter Milan fails.

Both Maicon and Ashley Cole have the ability to contribute in attack. So, signing the two full backs could help Real Madrid get the best out of the likes of Kaka and Cristiano Ronaldo.
