Federico Macheda to Mario Balotelli: Join Me at Manchester United

Manchester United is now trying hard to sign Inter Milan’s 19-year-old striker Mario Balotelli. However, their same-city rivals Manchester City seems to be in pole position to secure the service of Italy U-21 international as they are favorite to match Inter’s £30million valuation of the player.

Italy’s national daily sports newspaper, Corriere dello Sport, has reported that Manchester United’s young Italian striker Federico Macheda is now trying to convince his U-21 teammate through text messages and phone calls.

The interesting thing is that the arrival of Balotelli means Macheda would be further pushed down in the pecking order. After coming through United’s youth side, Macheda is yet to clinch a regular place in the first eleven of the Red Devils. He started representing the senior team of Manchester United since 2008 and has so far played only 9 matches, scoring 3 goals.

Mario Balotelli is highly rated in Italy. Though he is yet to flourish his full potential, the 19-year-old has already shown his talent and enough promises over the last few years. He joined Inter Milan in 2007 from Lumezzane and has scored 20 goals in 59 league matches for the Italian champions.

Having seen his talent and skill, a number of European clubs including Manchester United, Manchester City, Arsenal and Real Madrid already revealed their interest in him. Initially, Inter Milan was reluctant, but now it is pretty much clear that Inter would let Mario Balotelli move, if they get a staggering amount for the player.
