On July 16, 2010, General Motors India launched CNG version of its Chevrolet Aveo mid-sized sedan at a ceremony Presided over by Mr. Karl Slym. Already, the company launched LPG version of its Spark and Beat brand. With the Chevrolet Aveo CNG, the company increased its product line-up of gas running vehicles.

Mr. Slym said that the launch of the Aveo CNG is a testament to the importance that GM India attaches to green technology and environmentally friendly mobility solutions.
He said that the running cost of Aveo CNG is approximately 57 percent lower than a similar vehicle powered by petrol and 25 percent lower than a similar vehicle powered by diesel.
This lower operating cost and availability of CNG gas in Mumbai would help the Aveo CNG version to attract both individual and fleet customers. On full tank of CNG, the car can go up to 200 kilometers and is BS IV compliant.

The Aveo CNG kit features Sequential injection technology which is a highly advanced technology in the field of CNG driven vehicle. The Electronic Controller Unit calculates the opening times of the injectors for each cylinder and acts separately on each gas ejector.
To ensure high quality service, all the critical equipments of the CNG kit components have been fitted at the factory including the CNG injectors, selector switch, modified wiring and suspension.
Sequential injection represents the most advanced level of evolution of CNG kit technology. The ECU (Electronic Controller Unit) calculates the opening times of the injectors for each cylinder and acts separately on each gas injector with the highest precision.
