Iker Casillas: Ashley Cole Joining Real Madrid

Spain’s World Cup winning goalkeeper and captain Iker Casillas is now confident that England and Chelsea left back Ashley Cole is going to join Real Madrid this summer. Madrid manager Jose Mourinho is also highly interested to secure the service of his former Chelsea student.

After taking over as the new manager of Real Madrid, Joes Mourinho revealed that Ashley Cole is one of his top priorities in the Summer transfer window. Mourinho brought Cole at Stamford Bridge in 2006 from Arsenal and reportedly has a very good relationship with the 29-year-old fullback.

It is believed that Cole is also keen to escape from his England life and begin a new start in Spain under his former mentor. Recently, Ashley Cole has turned into a public hate figure in England following his divorcee from wife Cheryl. The situation got aggravated when his controversial text message to his friends revealed his hated for England and its people, following a disastrous World Cup campaign with England.

So, Iker Casillas has got enough ground to claim that the England international would join him at Bernabeu next season.

Casillas said to the media, “From what I am hearing the signs look good. I have only briefly spoken to people at the club but I am confident that he (Ashley Cole) can be a Real Madrid player next year.

I think it will be the right move for him both professionally and personally.”

Reports out in the media suggest that Ashley Cole would cost Real Madrid around £30 million. It is understood that both the clubs are now in the negotiation table and a deal would be struck sooner than later.
