Despite the poor showing by their batsmen, Pakistani bowlers made a good come back as the second day finished with Australia standing at 100 for 4 in their second innings. However, Australia bounced back on the third day as opener Katich along with Hilfenhaus, Paine and Johnson guided Australia towards a very good total of 334 runs.
