Nani: Euro 2012 Qualification is the Next Mission

Portugal international Nani missed the World Cup 2010 after suffering a shoulder injury during a training session and was ruled out of the tournament just 3 days before the beginning of the tournament.

The Manchester United player is naturally disappointed for missing the tournament in what could have been his first World Cup appearance. The 23-year-old was a key member in Portugal squad after coming off a good season with Manchester United, especially during the second half of the season.

Moreover, Nani played a big role in Portugal’s qualification into the World Cup finals scoring 3 goals himself and setting up many for his teammates in 11 World Cup qualifying matches.

There are many who believe that missing the service of Nani was one of the reasons behind Portugal’s early exit from the World Cup 2010. Portugal was knocked out of the tournament by Spain at the round of 16.

Well, Nani is still 23 and he should put the injury disappointment behind because he has many years left in his career. So, the winger should now focus on the tournaments coming up next. He should take care of his health as Portugal needs his service in Euro 2012 qualifying campaign beginning in September this year. Nani is now with Manchester United in their North America tour 2010.
