Romelu Lukaku: Where is He Going?

Belgian striker Romelu Lukaku is considered as one of the brightest players of world football at the moment. He may not have achieved as much accolades as Germany’s 20-year-old Thomas Muller did, but his tremendous skill and talent have already made him a potential future star.

The 17-year-old Anderlecht striker is also believed to be a new Didier Drogba in the making. A number of European clubs including English champion Chelsea, Arsenal, Real Madrid and AC Milan have already shown their interest to sign the player, but Chelsea seems to be very close to secure Lukaku’s service.

Recently, there was a rumor in the media that Romelu Lukaku had already joined Chelsea after a picture featuring Romelu wearing Chelsea’s new kit at Stamford Bridge was posted in Facebook. However, Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti later on dismissed those reports claiming that the player was just on a general tour.

Romelu is also reportedly very keen to join his role model Drogba at Chelsea. Drogba has recently talked to the Belgium international over the phone and asked him to move to Chelsea. Since his professional debut in 2009, he has scored 15 goals in 34 matches in Belgian league. However, his goal scoring prowess was visible since his days in the youth sides of various clubs including Brussels and Anderlecht. He has already made 2 appearances for Belgium national team.

Romelu Lukaku is an ideal center forward because of his speed and physical strength. He has an eye for goal and is very good at ball controlling. Thanks to his 6 feet 3 inches height, Romelu has aerial advantage too.

Overall, it is true that Chelsea is currently ahead in the race to sign Romelu Lukaku, but the European clubs like AC Milan, Arsenal and Real Madrid may also come out with a surprise offer for both the player and his current club to secure his service if Chelsea makes any delay to decide on the player.
