Time and Venue of Pakistan vs Australia 1st Test 2010

Pakistan and Australia are taking on each other in the first of the two-match test series starting from 13 July at Lord’s in England. While Australia is looking to continue their decade-long dominance over Pakistan, the Asian side is expected to be determined to put an end to their 12-match losing streak against Australia.

Time

The match starts at 09:30 GMT and 10:30 local time (BST). According to Pakistan time, the match kicks off at 14:30. Cricket fans in Australia can watch the match live on TV at 19:30 (Sydney, Canberra and Melbourne time), 19:00 (Adelaide time) and 17:30 (Perth time). In the US, the match begins in New York time at 05:30 and in California time at 02:30. As per India time, the match starts at 15:00.

Venue

The match will take place at the Lord’s cricket ground, St John's Wood in London, England. The stadium can occupy 30000 people. Established in 1814, it is arguably the most important cricket ground in the history of the game and has experienced many historic cricket events over the years.

There is a forecast for showers on Tuesday. So, it is expected that pacers would get some assistance from the pitch. Most probably this is going to be the last test match for Australian captain Ricky Ponting at Lord’s.

Pakistan is pretty much confident after their twenty20 series win, but their batting line up looks pretty much ordinary in the absence of Younis Khan and Mohammad Yousuf. It would be a big test for Pakistan’s new test captain Shahid Afridi who would return to test circuit after 4 years.

Australia will have two debutant in the match in wicketkeeper Tim Paine, who is deputizing for injured regular wicketkeeper Brad Haddin, and bowling all rounder Steven Smith who ensures excellent batting depth for Australia.
