Yahoo Jagran: The new web-portal for Hindi language speakers of India

Yahoo Jagran is the result of a collaboration between the Jagran Group and Yahoo! India. Jagran Group announced that they are working with Yahoo! India to launch a web-portal in Hindi language which would contain news on current affairs.

In a statement, the two companies said that the new portal would integrate the largest Hindi content of Jagran with Yahoo! India’s online presence. The two companies would share online revenues generated from the portal.

Yahoo! Jagran has been created for the Hindi language speakers living in India and abroad. Sanjay Gupta, CEO, Jagran Prakashan said, “This exciting and strategic partnership between two powerful media entities will redefine the Hindi online user experience.”

The Yahoo! Jagran web portal would provide Hindi language contents, breaking India news, breaking Hindi News, Hindi headlines, Hindi Cricket News, Hindi Epaper etc.

The Jagran Group is one of the well known business groups in North India. It is promoted by the Guptas. The Jagran Group is the proprietor of ‘Dainik Jagran’ the No.1 Hindi daily news paper in India with a subscriber base of 17.5 million in 8 Indian states.

‘Dainik Jagran’ was promoted in 1942 by the late Puran Chandra Gupta, a freedom fighter. The news paper is circulated in UP, Uttaranchal, Punjab, Bihar, Delhi, Harayana, Jharkhand, M.P. and parts of Rajasthan.
