Rafael Nadal is just two matches away of Winning Rogers Cup 2010

Top seeded Spanish professional tennis player, Rafael Nadal, made into the semi-final round of the Toronto Masters title after defeating Philipp Kohlschreiber of Germany with a 3-6, 6-3, 6-4 margin. He will have to win two more matches to get the trophy.

He survived a quarterfinal scare to remain his hope of winning the third Toronto Masters title on way. He will now face Andy Murray in the semi-final berth pursuing a place in the final round.

His opponent Andy Murray could move through to the semi-final round with a clinical 6-2, 6-2 win over Argentine David Nalbandian. It was his first victory over the twenty-eight-year-old Nalbandian. Winning the match, he has broken Nalbandian’s unbeaten streak.

David Nalbandian was unbeaten on 11-match since returning from a hamstring injury in July. He was out of the court for two months because of his injury.

World No. 1 Rafael Nadal is playing in his first event since winning Wimbledon last month. His appearance indicated that he is still in holiday mood.

No doubt, Andy Murray will face a tough challenge when he will take on Rafael Nadal in the semi-final round. To keep his fourth position, he will have to reach at least Sunday’s final. Defeat would have meant that he will drop few positions behind.

Andy Murray’s victory has come as a big threat for Rafael Nadal. He proves his fitness by defusing the previously red-hot Nalbandian.
