@anywhere offers Twitter login features for third party sites

Now, Twitter login will become very easy for you. On March 15, 2010, Twitter CEO Evan Williams unveiled a new feature of Twitter called @anywhere at the South by Southwest conference in Austin. The new service will enable third-party sites such as Amazon, Microsoft, Bing or Digg or eBay, to offer Twitter features on their sites. To enable the feature, the website publishers would have to “add a few lines of JavaScript to their sites.” This is very similar to Facebook Connect feature. PC World reports:

@anywhere disperses the Twitter experience via Hovercards -- the mini user profiles that pop up on Twitter itself -- and site proprietors will be able to add it easily via JavaScript rather than through a more complex API. Williams didn't mention when it would debut, but the blog post says "soon" and lists some impressive launch partners: Amazon, AdAge, Bing, Citysearch, Digg, eBay, The Huffington Post, Meebo, MSNBC.com, The New York Times, Salesforce.com, Yahoo!, and YouTube.

Social networking is the new trend these days. It is a great way to keep in touch with your friends. Twitter is one of the most popular social networking sites on the Internet. Created in 2006 by Jack Dorsey, Twitter is a social networking and microblogging service through which, users can send and read messages which are referred as “Tweets.” Tweets are text-based messages and 140 characters in length. The tweets are displayed on the authors’ profile page and delivered to the author’s followers. Within three years, Twitter became very popular around the world and it is described as “SMS on the Internet.”
