Arsenal to Sign Marouane Chamakh for £1.5 Million in Winter?

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger did everything he could do to land Moroccan striker Marouane Chamakh in Summer transfer window. However, Arsenal failed to agree a fee with Bordeaux for acquiring the service of the player. Now, reports available in the media suggest that Wenger would further attempt to sing the player in Winter transfer window spending an amount around £1.5million. The good news for the Gunners fans is that Chamakh is also interested to join Arsenal and already revealed his dissatisfaction at the French champion.

Arsenal boss Wenger always thinks twice before stepping into any deal because the club is also under huge debt thanks to the establishment of Emirates stadium. Naturally, Wenger has no scope to go for big-money signing as some of his fellow Premier league managers can do.

What is important here is that Arsenal needs to deal with a tight budget when it comes to signing new player and naturally it is not easy to contend with other big-spending clubs like Manchester City and Chelsea. Still, Wenger is doing his job magnificently well so far. Gunners have been pretty much consistent in Europe over the last few seasons. They reached the Champions league semi final last season with a very small squad that did not include any star players like Cristiano Ronaldo, Kaka or Messi.

Marouane Chamakh is now 25 and it would be a very good signing for Wenger because Arsenal would possibly get some of the best years of Chamakh’s career. On the other hand, Marouane Chamakh would also find someone like Wenger as his mentor at Arsenal and there is every possibility the Morocco international could become a big star of world football at Arsenal.
