Chintu Ji leaked over the Internet

Chintu Ji, the movie starring Rishi Kapoor, is supposed to release on September 4, 2009 but copies of the movie are now moving around the Internet. Already the movie is being shared by some download websites. NDTV reports:

The low-key film has received postive initial reviews but it being available online even before it opens in the theatres might impact the film's earnings.

Produced by Bobby Bedi and directed by Ranjit Kapoor, Chintu Ji's starcast includes - apart from Rishi Kapoor - Priyanshu Chatterjee, Kulraj Randhawa, Saurabh Shukla, Grusha Kapoor and Sophie Choudhry.

Such leaks did not happen for the first time. Piracy is a major crisis for the Indian movie industry causing losses worth millions of rupees every year. Last year, when Rajasthan banned the release of Jodhaa Akbar in its local theatres, sales of pirated copies of the movie went up. Though Indian government and the production houses are trying their best to curb piracy but the situation did not change much over time.
