Indian TV actress Mona Wasu came out as the winner of the reality game show, “Iss Jungle Se Mujhe Bachao.” The twenty one year old actress has been voted and crowned ‘Jungle Queen’ at the grand finale. Pop singer Anaida became the second runners up. As the winner, Mona Wasu walked away with Rs.10 million. Mona said that she would invest the money in a house in Mumbai. After the result, Mona said that she is very thankful to the audience for appreciating her fight and struggle throughout the show. India Today reports:
Mona, 24, a television star best known for her roles in soaps such as Miilee and Radha Ki Betiyan Kuch Kar Dikheyngi , beat the other two finalists, 32-year-old TV actor Chetan Hansraj and 30-year-old pop singer Anaida, by a narrow margin of SMS votes.
Mona's victory came as surprise to many because a lot of the audience felt that it would be difficult for a female contestant to match the stamina of her male counterparts while performing the difficult tasks on the show, and also survive the tough life in the jungle.
Mona was the only female contestant to won 10 out of 10 stars in jungle challenge tasks. She put her head in ten different glass chambers filled with insects, scorpions, snakes and rats.
Iss Jungle Se Mujhe Bachao is based on a popular British TV reality game show, I'm a Celebrity…Get Me out of Here!. The show premiered on Sony TV on July 13, 2009.
