Schedule of Bangladesh, India and Sri Lanka Tri Nation ODI Series 2010

Tri-Nation ODI Tournament in Bangladesh 2010 is knocking at the door. Only four days are left to start of this exciting and nail biting ODI tournament between three Test playing countries. It is scheduled to start from 4th January 2010. They are India, Sri Lanka and host team Bangladesh. It has already caught the attention to all cricket fans in the world. Ahead of the upcoming ODI tournament, each of the teams has already announced their squad. It is going to be the first ODI tournament for three countries next year.

Famous Sports TV channel NEO Cricket has got the right to broadcast it live world wide. This channel will cover India’s tour in Bangladesh including tri-series and two-match Test series against Bangladesh. As both India and Sri Lanka have already played so, it may not get much importance to the cricket fans.

Sri Lanka toured India to play a series including Test, ODI and T20. However, tourist team lost both the longest format of cricket game and limited over game. They only could tie the two-match T20 series 1-1. So, the upcoming tour series is going to be a revenge game for Sri Lankan cricket team. A series victory can reduce their pain and help them to forget the darkest time. Sri Lankan selectors have brought a wholesale change after Sri Lanka’s disappointing performance against India. Lahiru Thirimanne is supposed to make his debut. The 20-year-old player is a left hand batsman and left-arm medium fast bowler. The main target of Sri Lankan cricket team should perform well and snatch the trophy in the New Year. Some top players like Sanath Jayasuriya, Lasith Malinga, Ajantha Mendis and Chamara Kapugedera have been axed. Kumar Sangakkara is the captain of Sri Lanka team. He is the leading run scorer with an average of 55.10. Recently, he caught the media attention after signing with Lancashire as a batsman.

Indian cricket team is now floating in the air after they have finished a series against Sri Lanka recently. Their performance against Sri Lanka was satisfactory. For the first time, they have reached at the top of ICC Test ranking. Thanks to a 2-0 victory in a test series, India could achieve this position. It also raises a question to the mind of Indian fans that how long they can stay at the top of the list. No doubt, India is the hot favorite in this tournament. Even they have the possibility to win the trophy. India’s most experienced batsman Sachin Tendulkar has opted out his name from this tour game. He will be rested. Indian captain MS Dhoni will lead his team. He was banned for two ODI matches due to slow over rate. Year 2009 brought some cheer to the Indian cricket fans. Let us see what is waiting in the fate of Indian cricket team in 2010. Do you think they can continue their dominance in the cricket world?

As I earlier stated you that this tri-nation ODI tournament will be held in Bangladesh so, you can easily understand that Bangladesh cricket team will get some advantage as a host team. Though Bangladesh cricket team is not a strong opponent team in this tournament but they are always considered as giant team. Cricket fans always like to see them to make upset against any big team. If luck favors them then it can happen against either against India or Sri Lankan cricket team. Mashrafe Bin Mortaza has come back in the national squad. He has been announced as captain. Once again cricket fans can see him leading Bangladesh national cricket team. Three former rebel players Shahriar Nafees, Aftab Ahmed and Alok Kapali have also been included in this squad. Their inclusion in the national squad will help to make a strong protest against the opponent team.
