Delhi budget 2010 is emphasizing on developing the condition of the city

On March 22, 2010, Shri A K Walia, finance minister of Delhi State Government, is presenting Delhi Budget 2010 – 2011. It is his seventh consecutive budget presentation. Here are some of the highlights of Delhi budget 2010:

  • Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) is 10 % according to Walia.
  • Mr. Walia announced that more DTC buses will be added and for this the budget allocated Rs 675 crore allocated. In addition, government will start special non stop DTC buses for 50 routes. The buses will have GPS from now on.
  • The government will also build 26 new foot over bridges before December 2010.
  • To supply street lights Rs.830 million will be provided to Municipal Corporation of Delhi.
  • For health, Delhi budget 2010 allocated Rs. 12.4 billion.
  • News reports say that the new budget will increase taxes on luxury goods such as designer clothes, high-end mobile phone and watches and would increase road taxes.

  1. It is difficult to understand why things like Alcohol and Tabaco doesnt get a 100% increase in Tax.and things like diesel are the easy targets.People like Walia should be kicked out of delhi.Filling their own pockets at the expense of others.
