Bharat Earth Movers Limited (BEML) is a state owned company. Located in Bangalore, the company manufactures a wide range of heavy equipments for operations such earth moving, transport and mining.
BEML was incorporated in 1964. The company started its operation on January 1, 1965. Till 1992, Indian government held 25% stake in the company and it was overlooked by India’s Ministry of Defense. BEML is Asia’s second largest manufacturer of earth moving equipment. It controls 70% of India’s market. The company has its manufacturing plant located Kolar Gold Fields, Bangalore and Mysore. The company also has numerous offices all over the country. The Kolar Gold Field manufacturing facility is the biggest manufacturing facility of BEML which produces earth moving equipments such as bulldozers and excavators. Railcoaches are made in the Bangalore complex and the Mysore facility produces dump trucks and engines of various capacity.
