Flat Holm island: No Cloth Allowed?

I should have given the title as how to make nudity a business. It seems that some people will go at any length to get some media coverage and publicity. So, members of British Naturism Group visited Flat Holm Island and all of them were without any clothes. They also announced that anyone with cloth will not be allowed to enter the island that day. The Island has special historical significance as Marconi first sent the wireless signal over sea from this island.
Anyway, the main matter is that banning all kind of clothes in the island for the day is funny and just a way of getting media attention. Some websites have written about it and now, in Google Trends India, some people are searching about it. So, the members of the group have been successful as they have got what they wanted.
I do not personally support the idea of nudist clubs but at the same time, I know that some people are fan of this thing. So, I have nothing to say about it.

  1. Just to set the record straight, we never said that clothes were banned and we did this because we enjoy it - not for publicity. The island staff remained clothed as did the party of volunteers renovating the fog-horn during our three-hour visit. The only thing that prevented more visitors joining us was the availability of places on the only boat that day - we filled the boat!
We have been very surprised by the extent of the publicity we have received, but saddened by the inaccurate reporting involved. Perhaps the next time we take a trip to Flat Holm the novelty will have worn off and we can just enjoy it as wish to.
