Title: Ravana movie.

Director and Producer: Mani Ratnam.

Music: A.R. Rahman and

Cast: Aishwarya Rai Bachan, Abhishek Bachchan, Bipasha Basu, Govinda, Nikhil Dwivedi, Suhasini, Priyamani, Ranjitha, Ravi Kishan and Vikram.

Ravana movie will be a multilingual movie. It has been simultaneously shot in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi language. From the title, you can easily understand that it is based on famous mythology, The Ramayana. Mani Ratnam is a big budget movie maker in the Indian movie industry. It is natural that his movies will have large crew and technicians.

Rama, the son of King Dashratha, goes after King of Lanka, Ravana, who kidnaps his wife, Sita. However, The Hindu reported that some sources denied that the movie is based on the Ramayana. The film was shot in “controversy-mired Vedic Village housing complex” in Kolkata. Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan played the central characters of the movie. Vikram is the villain. Abhishek Bachchan’s sister is molested by Vikram’s character and in retaliation, Abhishek Bachchan kidnaps Vikram’s wife played by Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. Eventually, the two falls in love. It has been revealed that Mani Ratnam shot four climaxes for the movie and in one of the climaxes, Sita falls in love with Ravan. In the Tamil version of the movie, Vikram played the male lead opposite Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.

Already, teaser trailer of the movie has been released. Many people are now searching to see the teaser of Ravana movie. Here is the clip:

After three years, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan are going to appear in Ravana movie. The last time the couple appeared in movies was in 2007 in Guru. After three years, the couple is appearing together in another movie, named Ravana.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan first appeared in Dhai Akshar Prem Ke in 2000. After three years, the couple again appeared in Kuch Naa Kaho. The movie was good but it did not do so well at the box office. After four years, in 2007, the couple tasted success with Guru. Guru is loosely based on famous Indian businessman, Dhirubhai Ambani. The movie did fairly well at the box office especially, in the U.S. Both Abhishek Bachchan as Gurukanth Desai and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan as Sujata Desai did very well in the movie.

The couple had a tough time shooting Ravana movie at Kochi. The shooting took place in the Malayatoor forest near Kochi. It was a long shooting schedule and the forest environment was very harsh. After this long shooting, the couple went to have a vacation. There was very tight security to keep away the press and the fans from entering the set. Still, photos of Aishwarya arriving on the set wearing the dress of a Tamil Brahmin.

  2. It is really bad to mix up this concept of sita falling in love with ravana, is really paining to many people who wroship rama and sita as god. Rama is an ideal and role model for many hindus, Ramayana is fabel belived by many of us that lord Mahavishnu has taken an avathar in form of hindu king and thought us how a person should live with maodesty, humblenes, and how to to lead a life rightously,
and fight the adharma without any fear, even at troubled times.
I have no idea about the story line of the filim Ravana but under any point of time the story gives the message that sita is in love with Raavana that is really condemable, and will hurt the sentiments of millions of hindus, i have great confidence in Manirattinam's filim i hope he never attempt to hurt the religious sentiments. Infact if we go deep into the orgins of Lord Sita devi she is only the adopted child of King Jankar, her true father is only Ravana.

  4. Bollywood has gone crazy. This type of nonsense should not be tolerated. You cannot link these messed up characters to our divine figures. If true, there should be serious consequences for this director and actors of this movie so that no one dares to do this again

  6. It is painful to know that a denigrating film Ravana is being released in this Raavan raj.Every proud Indian and Hindu should protest and should not see this movie which hurts religious sentiments of Hindu. Sita fall in love totaly against our mythology ,Dharmgranth Ramayan and Hindu Dharm. Mani Ratnam will not dare to hurt Muslims or Christians. He is purposely doing as Hindus are tolerant. Vatkar

Yes surely this film will Hindus to protest it as its the totally against the Ramayana. Rawan is demon, then how this director is showing that Sita if falling in his love ? I saw some protest initiated by Hindu groups on this link
http://www.hindujagruti.org/news/9497.html So director should think properly before releasing this movie.

  20. obviously this film will be met with a lot of controversy but the best thing about this is that it will further our open-minded cultural advancement, hopefully opening up the eyes of those offended by it on the way. note that most of the people that would be offended are those who take movies life-seriously or see others whom are extremely influenced by movies; thus they are afraid that their faith will be offended. honestly even for them they shouldn't get mad b/c if they're so set on taking bollywood very seriously thus seeing this movie as an offense against the hindu faith, they should look at it as a test of faith to see how strongly they really believe in it. this is SIMPLY a movie created for entertainment and food for thought; mani ratnam is not trying to preach us anything against our religion nor is she attempting to kill hinduism.

  21. it is just a movie, nothing to feel bad about, it is nothing wrong or right, it is modern day version, hw are things nw, it is shot with that perspective, nothing do with the epic as such

  22. i agree wit Komal, its because of our nature that has been built into us way before the Cholans that our nations are not prospering at the same rate of other fast developing countries. Mani Ratnam as far as i see was the only director, when he first appeared, was on par with the directors in Hollywood and International geniuses. I just reckon all the antique bedraggled men who say they are devout Hindus to pray with their hands and not with their tongue
