Schedule of Semi Finals of IPL 2010

Four teams have already been finalized for the semi final matches of IPL 2010. These four teams are: Mumbai Indians, Deccan Chargers, Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore. Among them, only two will be selected for the final match.

Mumbai Indians has become the first semi-finalist team in the third edition of IPL. They lead the IPL point table with 20 points from 14 matches. Mumbai Indians is now performing well. They lost only four matches. Their last defeat came against Kolkata Knight Riders. They are most likely to win the championship of IPL 2010.

Deccan Chargers is the second semi-finalist team. They got 16 points from 14 matches. Their 11 run victory against Delhi Daredevils in 55th IPL 2010 match made their path easy to move into the semi-final. Deccan Chargers is the defending champion. They will try their best to defend their title for the second time.

Chennai Super Kings ensured their position among the top four after their victory against Kings XI Punjab. They defeated Kings XI Punjab by 6 wickets with 2 balls remaining.

Royal Challengers Bangalore is the lucky team to be included in the semi-final schedule. They had the possibility to be eliminated from the round robin league. Because of their good net run rate, they have become fourth leading team in the point table. They got 14 points from 14 matches. They could be overtaken by 6th placed team Kolkata Knight Riders if they could manage their last victory with huge run margin or ball difference. However, Kolkata Knight Riders got their consolation victory against top ranked team, Mumbai Indians, in a dead-rubber game.

Semi-final round will start from 21st April 2010 and it will end with the second semi-final match on 22nd April 2010. In the first semi-final match, last year’s runners up team, Royal Challengers Bangalore, will take on top ranked team, Mumbai Indians. In the second semi-final match, Chennai Super Kings will face Deccan Chargers. Both the matches will be played at the Dr DY Patil Sports Academy in Mumbai.
