India, Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe Tri Nation Series 2010 Live on Different TV Channels

India, Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe are all set to participate in the Tri Nation Series 2010. The series kicks off with the match between Zimbabwe and India at the Queens Sports Club, Bulawayo on 28 May.

Cricket fans in Zimbabwe are very much excited with the series. Since Zimbabwe’s self-imposed exile from test circuit, cricket powerhouses rarely visit Zimbabwe. So, the tri nation series has come as a big source of excitement among the cricket fans in the African country.

However, Zimbabwe cricket fans may be disappointed to see second-string Indian and Sri Lankan teams participating in the tournament, but they can be delighted too thinking that Zimbabwe now has a very good possibility of causing one or two upsets in the tournament.

Interestingly, all three participating teams will be lead by three new captains in the tournament. Suresh Raina has been appointed captain for the current series, while Sri Lanka will be led by Tillakaratne Dilshan. Indian and Sri Lankan selectors decided to rest some of the regular members of the squads including the captains to give opportunity to the young players.

Zimbabwe selectors, however, has named full-strength squad for the tournament. Young all rounder Elton Chigumbura has been appointed new captain following the resignation of Prosper Utseya recently.

So, there is every possibility India and Sri Lanka may find tough challenge from the Zimbabwean side who would like to capitalize on the home condition. Zimbabwe’s pacer friendly wickets could trouble the Indian and Sri Lankan batsmen who are generally used to bat in spinning tracks of the sub-continent.
