In a group C match of World Cup 2010, Algeria and Slovenia are going to face each other today (13 June) at the Peter Mokaba Stadium, Polokwane. The first match of the group saw favorite England was held to a 1-1 draw by USA. So, both sides could now fancy a chance to the next stage, and for that, would love to have a winning start to their World Cup campaign.

The match begins at 11:30 GMT and 13:30 local time. In Algeria, the match would start at 12:30 and in Slovenia it kicks off at 13:30.

Both sides have previous experience of playing in World Cup, though neither side could go beyond the first round. It is pretty much understandable that Algeria and Slovenia are not the favorites in Group C. USA and England are tipped to go into the next round from this group.
However, it could be an advantage for Algeria and Slovenia. The spotlight is now on England and USA. So, there is huge pressure on them and herein lies the threat of being the victim of an upset at the hands of Algeria or Slovenia.
However, before that both Algeria and Slovenia would like to win their first match today, knowing that it would only increase their chances to make way into the round of 16 from the group.
Both sides have number of talented players who play for top European clubs in various leagues. So, football fans can expect some good performances from both sides.
Slovenia would be looking for a special performance from the likes of Boštjan Cesar, Branko Ilič, Bojan Jokić, Robert Koren and Zlatko Dedič, while the players like Madjid Bougherra, Nadir Belhadj, Yazid Mansouri, Karim Ziani and Rafik Djebbour can do the job for the Algerians.
