Argentina vs Germany: Time for Diego Maradona to Take Revenge

Argentina vs Germany quarterfinal match of World Cup Football 2010 is going to be one of the biggest matches of this tournament in South Africa. The two countries met exactly in the quarterfinal stage of World Cup 2006 that took place in Germany. Thus, it is like a repeat of the history for the football fans.
In that clash of 2006, Germany won and advanced to the semifinal. Well, it was a win that came from tie breaker or penalty shootout after the match ended 1-1. German players could hold their nerve in the penalty shootout and won it by 4-2. Lionel Messi did not get a chance to play on that match and HernĂ¡n Crespo and Tevez played as strikers.
Thus, Messi and Tevez both are looking to take revenge for that defeat. Of course, history is not limited to just Tevez or Messi. The current coach Diego Maradona has some part of history against Germany too. In the final match of Mexico 1986, Diego Maradona was the captain and his team faced Germany in the final match. This famous victory not only brought World Cup championship for Argentina second time but also established Maradona as the best player of his generation.
Germany had their sweet revenge in 1990 and in the final match, they defeated Argentina by 1-0 and lifted the trophy for the 3rd time.  The match was a very emotional one for Maradona as millions of his fans felt that Argentina was defeated by the referee not by the German players. Referee Edgardo Codesal showed red cards to two Argentina players and awarded Germany a penalty in the 85th minute a decision that looked to be a controversial one at that time.
So, Maradona has some scores to settle with the German team. He has Messi with him to help him to take the revenge against Germany
