Arsene Wenger on Cesc Fabregas Future at Arsenal

Arsenal is still confident Cesc Fabregas would stay at the Emirates next season as manager Arsene Wenger has revealed that he has not yet talked to Arsenal captain about his much-speculated move to Barcelona.

Reports have it in the media that Barcelona already has a £29 million bid rejected, but the Catalan side is still trying its best to bring back its former student. It is also believed that the midfielder already revealed his desire to join Barcelona this summer.

The Daily Mirror reported that Wenger has recently said he has not talked to Cesc Fabregas regarding this issue. The coach thinks he does not need to talk to Cesc as the player has a contract with the club.

There are many who believe that losing Fabregas would be a huge blow for Arsenal. There are many suggestions who would fill the gap, should Fabregas leaves for Barcelona.

Abou Diaby is perhaps the player at the current Arsenal set up who could replace Fabregas, but it is true that his quality does not go with that of Fabregas.

Arsenal is heavily linked with Joe Cole whose Chelsea contract has been expired. He could join the North London club after the World Cup. His attacking intent and creativity could come close to that of Fabregas.

  1. Abou Diaby replace Fabregas ????????? - Diaby's passing and the ability to retain the ball are the weakest part of his game - good grief...
