Manchester United Targets Raul and Michael Ballack

Manchester United has set its sight on two ‘free agent’ players Raul and Michael Ballack. Real Madrid striker Raul is yet to sing a new contract, while Michael Ballack currently has no job in hand as Chelsea did not offer any new contract to the German international.

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson is not that much active in the Summer transfer window as the club is now under huge debt. So, Ferguson wants to capitalize on their ‘free agent’ tag.

Raul has been out of favor in Real Madrid as the Spanish giants have a number of star players like Kaka, Cristiano Ronaldo and Higuain in their attacking line up. So, the former Spain captain could consider a move to Old Trafford.

Raul is now 32 and he would love to gain more first team football at United. However, there are many who believe that Raul would not leave Real Madrid at this age of his career as he has spent his whole life at the club.

Michael Ballack, on the other hand, may not have any emotional link with Chelsea and it seems the German star could join the Old Trafford club this summer. Ballack was ruled out of Germany’s 2010 World Cup mission due to his injury towards the end of the season.

However, it would be interesting to see how Ferguson accommodates Ballack in the Manchester United midfield that already features the experienced players like Scholes and Giggs.
