Birmingham City not yet Given up on Ryan Babel

It looks Birmingham City is still interested in Netherlands international Ryan Babel. City already has a £9 million bid rejected by Liverpool, but they are persistent in their pursuit of securing the winger’s service.

Skysports has reported that Birmingham City manager Alex McLeish is now ready to make an improved offer for the 23-year-old who is currently busy on international duty in the World Cup. However, it is not yet known if the winger would like to make a move to Birmingham City.

After Liverpool’s failure to clinch a Champions League spot for the next season, a number of players are now planning to move away from Anfield. Players like Torres, Gerrard, Macheranho have attracted attention from a number of European clubs, while some other players are also disappointed with the recent proceedings at the Merseyside club.

Babel joined Liverpool in 2007 from Ajax. However, the player failed to hold on to his excellent form in his debut season with the All Reds. Despite his recent mediocre performance, Birmingham City wants to sign him knowing that the player, at 23, has enough time to flourish his talent and excel in his career.

Birmingham is now more determined to acquire his service following their unsuccessful effort to land Charles N'Zogbia from Wigan Athletic.
