Cristian Bonilla: I am Joining Manchester City

Colombian goalkeeper Cristian Bonilla has revealed that he is very close to join English Premier League club Manchester City. Bonilla, who currently plays for Colombian club Boyaca Chico, has also said that he is yet to go through the medical before his completing the move.

Reports available in the media also indicate that City could loan out the 17-year-old to a Spanish club next season so that he can get enough exposure to top flight football in Spanish La Liga.

Cristian Bonilla said to the media, “The only thing that is left to do is my medical tests and sign the contract. Besides the fact that I may be loaned to another team, this is a very important door that gets opened for my career, so I will have to start to take English lessons very soon.

This is a very important step forward in my career, everything has been arranged and according to what the (Boyaca Chico) president Eduardo Pimental has said to me, the transfer has been confirmed.”

Over the last one or two years, City has been spending a lot in the transfer market to strengthen their squad, but failed to bring out any success. So, signing a young, talented and lesser-known player like Cristian Bonilla is a good move from Manchester City.

Like the last summer, Manchester City is on a spending spree this summer too. They are going to splash the cash to sign the players like Yaya Toure, David Villa and James Milner.
